Violence against women working in the entertainment sector (FY 2076/077)

This year, as in previous years, 25 cases of violence against women and adolescents working in the entertainment sector have been registered in the organization (June 2019-July 2020). 3 Rape cases has been registered police station and are in the judicial process. 8 cases were of fear and threaten, 9 cases were of violence and 6 were physical harm cases.

The main causes of violence are lack of family support, early employment, financial problems, unintentional sex, polygamy, and deprivation of resources. There are also factors that indirectly influence, such as lack of evaluation of work, dominance of authoritarian thinking, discrimination, etc., which have further contributed to the occurrence of violence.

Based on the above data, the incidence of various types of violence against women and adolescents working in the entertainment sector  is 7 in the age group between 10 to 19, 7 in the age group between 20 to 29 and 11 in the age group between 30 to 39.

Analyzing the scope of work of various cases registered, 9 persons were from the Khajaghar, 8 persons were from Dohori, 6 persons from dance bar and 2 persons were from massage parlor.
